Swedish Orphan International Holding AB is an international group with its head office in Stockholm, Sweden. The company was formed in 1988.
In 2004, the company was acquired by a consortium consisting of Investor Growth Capital, Skandia Investment and the management of Swedish Orphan International AB. Today Swedish Orphan International has pan-European presence and a pan-European reach ensuring availability of services to the rare disease community in Europe.
In order to reach patients in emergency situations, regardless of where they are, we have an extensive organisation with strong local roots and local knowledge.

The Group has about 130 employees. The majority of our employees have a background in the pharmaceutical industry, often from the big international pharmaceutical companies.
Thanks to our employees, we have extensive expertise in both medical and regulatory matters, as well as business and market-related issues. Our various subsidiaries enable us to ensure local knowledge and expertise.
